About Me
Every chapter of my life echoes one truth: storytelling isn’t just art; it’s a force for change.
As a shy, introverted child, I found my voice in the pages of books, and through writing, I learned to dream beyond my small world. Stories and imagination fuel the world, and they carried me from a quiet reader to a radio host discussing African literature, a published children’s author, and the founder of a storytelling nonprofit.
With multiple books published by Farafina Books and contributions to international literacy initiatives like OkadaBooks’ Write the Future and South Africa’s Book Dash, my stories have reached children across Nigeria and beyond. But my mission goes beyond writing books—I am steadfastly committed to ensuring that African children see themselves at the heart of the stories they read.
In 2024, I founded The Kid Lit Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing young African storytellers by providing them with the resources, mentorship, and community they need to tell authentic stories. We are building the future one story at a time.
